AUSSOM

More on funding for AUSSOM.

As previously reported by the East African on 27/01/2025 the EU was waiting for other major powers to agree a share a of the financial burden.

Excellent news. EU is broke and USA doesn’t give a f*ck anymore but the situation is still worrying. If USA decides to foot the bill and especially by this administration, we are in a world of trouble.

Im saying this because of the recent remarks of resettling palestinians which is a pipe dream. FGS is already under the thumb of America, but the situation could worsen. The foreign soldiers act as the last of line of deterrence against AS who could realistically wipe them out. They are not doing that because they are content on being murderers for hire, extortioners and ruling over Somalias breadbasket fattening themselves. AS is not interested in ruling over the whole country.

Back to the topic, this has been the best news for sometime. The palestinian resettlement issue will die, palestinians aren’t coming to Somalia. That will never happen which means potentially only good reason for why USA would fund this mission is now gone. What will they achieve if they continue to fund us?

There is nothing in Somalia that would benefit USA’s interests. They already have a base in Jabuuti, there is no need for another one in Northern Somalia overseeing the stragetic Gulf of Aden.

We might for the first time in decades see USA truly pullout from Somalia and leave us. Trump going fully scorched earrh and Im loving it.

What a wonderful news indeed.

This is not a reflection of US interests at all.

They are not abandonning Somalia and Somaliland. They will shift policy.

They are looking for realistic funding solutions for AUSSOM and ending the one-Somalia policy. We will see what happens.

Maybe it looks like scorched earth to the HAG dynastic ambitions. It certainly is.

Oh boy.

Think logically and put your emotions to the side. Based on what is America abandoning One Somalia policy? Last time Trump was in power, he withdrew all the 800 troops from Somalia. What makes you think he cares about SL?

Nothing in this world is free so how will SL independence benefit America? Only trump card (pun intended kkkk) you had was a military base in Berbera. There is already a base in Djibouti. What else you have that will be in Americas interest? Nothing.

AMISOM/ATMIS was funded by the EU but not anymore due to that organisation becoming broke. I stated this already. Only US can pay the bill and they are reluctant to do it. Trump might actually leave us altogether, which we all support.

You are deluding yourself and losing the grip on reality. That fat fucker on twitter on your payroll is not going to guarantee you guys independence. You will need more and you guys have nothing to offer. Wake up.

I think you might be having a breakdown, lol. Part of what you are asking was in the post I made already. The rest is available here and there.

End of one-Somalia policy:
1) Congress may deliberate on US military presence, engagement with the central governemnt and breakaway regions
2) Some reports suggest the Trump adminstration could recognize Somaliland as an independent

AUSSOM:
1) deliberate UN support for a new African Union (AU) successor operation.

Let them cope. Somalia is America's only success story in the war on terror, they aren't going to end it and let all that work go to waste. Everyone knows that SL's only window for recognition was from 1991-2012.

Instead of wishful thinking, bring some hard facts. You seem to deliberately miss my message/points.

Let me ask you for one time again, how will SL independence benefit America? Trumps administration aint just gonna recognise SL because some senator on your guys payroll, added SL independence on a bill. World doesn’t work like that.

United States will recognise a breakaway state that recently had a 9 month long war with its own
”breakaway state” that won the war and kicked Isaaqs out of their territory. Now you guys don’t control the eastern ”border”. Sit on that though a minute.

I've quoted actual relevant document, you have quoted nothing but your own limited knowledge.

This thread is about AUSSOM and I kept my post to that before you interjected with an entire monologue about US interests you fabricated.

The answer to your question is US/China competition in Djibouti and beyond and you can find posts about that too.

This guy doesn’t discuss from a realistic viewpoint whatsoever. His bias is clouding his judgment.

Finally, some answers. We are onto something now, but I agree with you. We can debate another time, no need to derail the thread.
