Autism in the Somali community

my mother is Dhulbahante-father -majeeerten but i have different father to my younger brothers, their father is ogaden. my personal vitamin D intake is daily 1 tablet 4000iu d3 with k2 combined in it 100ug.
3/6 siblings is very high,Autism is strongly genetic
Families with one child with autism have an increased chance of having another child with autism when compared with the general population. The chance of having another affected child is estimated to be around 1 in 5.
Family members of a person with autism also tend to have higher rates of autistic traits.
Twin studies demonstrate that when one identical (monozygotic) twin is affected by autism, there’s a very high chance the other twin will be affected also (77% in one large study). With fraternal (dizygotic) twins, who have a different genetic makeup to each other, the chance is much less.https://www.autismawareness.com.au/understanding-autism/causes

interesting, would you agree its not actually the migration to colder climate but inherently genetic-lack of foreign admixture ?

reality is we don't know enough about autism to viably make claims about this, though the abnormal rate within our community has puzzled me for a long time also.

to add on to this, I think we have a significantly higher rate of mental illness (bipolar/schizophrenia) than others too, I wonder what could cause all this

But they wear jilbabs back in somalia, why isn't everybody there autistic πŸ€”
And you can't say from the face because I rarely see pregnant somali women leave the house
did you use your brain when you decided to write that? Jilbabs don't cause vitamin d deficiency you dumbass :williamswtf: do jeans make you vitamin d deficient? no.

Yes it does. Dark skinned Africans wearing tents suited for desert climate in a cold climate is a recipe for disaster. How do you think jilbaabis naturally absorb vitamin d? Kkkkkk

and I highly doubt anyone actually wears this outside of the middle east or even africa

Have you never came across any Somalis in the diaspora? Many Somali mothers wear full coverings in the west, it actually makes them stick out like a sore thumb even compared to other Muslims.

umm i literally live in the US, so yeah :umwhat:

I've only seen a couple of people bring up the connections between autism and the childhood vaccines, especially the MMR, some idiots might just dismiss me and say I'm anti vaccine, but I'm not, I've seen personally how a friend's three years old boy changed immediately and become mute after getting the MMR shots, ilmaha down syndrome ka qabo somaliya wa ku yar yihin intana wa aragtaan, maybe our genes are much more different than the European ones and the same vaccines affect us differently, just maybe, dumbassez

My sister has autism. It seems like most Somali families have at least one kid with autism.
Too much inbreeding.

Somalis need to start marrying out.

You guys have never visited Somalia if you're running with this inbred rubbish. I've spent time back home and I haven't seen an autistic child, i've only come across two children with down syndrome.

The question we should be really asking is why is it so prevalent in the west and non-existent back home?

One poster mentioned 3 of his siblings are autistic, and yet this whole autism thing is unheard of back home....

Spoke to my Hooyo about this she said Somali kids don't have autism at birth matter of fact its the shot given to them once they reach the age of 9 month. at this point the doctor will give the child a shot this shot cause the autism in a health child
