I have no legitimate evidence to base this off, but I suspect our poetic form is quite ancient based on the invocations of figures — perhaps vestigial gods — that have completely been forgotten. True, Somali was extensively used as a medium of instruction and administration. They was i which all this was realized became a model for imitation and emulation by other countries of the African continent. But after the collapse of the Somali state, this language that had gained such an important role for Somalis lost most of its prestige.Somali language is in decline, in terms of quality since the civil war.
He reminds me of this American who lived in Somalia during the 80s and became proficient in Somali, he speaks of Somalis the same way.
I think language is the gateway that makes you feel more connected to a people in a way.
It's through the medium of language that culture is conveyed.
