Last time i checked Somalia was for somalis, we lost half of ours lands to invaders, Ethiopia, Kenya and the French and yall want to give a foreign ethnicity powers. I predict that Somalification of Kenya could possibly happen by 2030. Somalis rose from number #18 biggest ethnicity in kenya in 1980s, now we're #8 biggest ethinicity. Although they like to hide this number, but you can see how this govt has been trying to appeal to the Somali community in this election.

Slavery was only abolished during colonial times ie 1930s. Bantu were enslaved for years, there’s a whole thread with pictures dating to the 1800s.
They have never claimed Somali Cushitic ethnicity (except some shegaatos and halfies) however they are nationals since for many of their current generation Somalia and afsomaali is all they have known. Just like America or Canada or the U.K. is all what the diaspora Somalis who’ve never visited Somalia would feel. Some of our diaspora Somalis may not even speak Somali yet they claim the ethnicity but not the nationality.
The only reason why their numbers have increased is so much is simple. During the war, they’ve been very much left alone so they’ve been free to reproduce.
However I thought this thread was about the about the amount of Somali Bantus, at least they are fighting for their country whilst they are unpaid. A country that has adopted them so you should just be okay with it. They’re not harming you

200 years isn’t that fairly recent. The descendants have now all assimilated within Somalia now and quite a few of them lost their original language
