What does qabiil have to do with Federalism?
Even under Centralism, people lived in regions dominated by their own clan.
It doesn’t.
That is my entire point.

I love federalism. I live in a federal country. I want Somalia to be
I brought up qabiil when @InaShaqalle brought up introducing a UAE style system to Somalia.
That inherently means making qabiilism a permanent reality in Somali politics.
I don’t want Somalia to be divided on qabiil in 50 years time. Do you?
These people who try to claim that Federalism is more 'qabiilist' than Centralism make me laugh.
For instance, if Puntland was dissolved, we'd still end up with several regions and the same amount of reps in the Central Parliament.
You cannot make us a minority no matter what system you invent, and that's what troubles some of you the most.
I even heard of a laughable proposal by @Periplus where he said people should get paid to move to other clan regions.
When people get an honest government and get free healthcare, free education, housing and they feel safe, they will rely less on their qabiil.
Qabiil and extended family that has to act like a pseudo-government when we have corrupt megalomaniacs in charge.
The less corruption there is, the less qabyaalad there will be.
I have said this before.
I agree with qabiil-federalism until Somalia stabilises.
After that, we need to have honest conversations about ditching qabiil as a society.
We don't need to 'ditch qabiil' , we must only ditch 'qabyaalad'.
All clans are equal, but I will not erase my lineage to please another person. That's my ancestry, it is not haram.
You know what I’ll leave it here.
Thats a respectable opinion and a good first step.
Inshallah, you change your opinion on it but at least it’s better than the majority of Somalis.
Second president was Dhulbahante. That’s a silver lining.
It will end the “PL is a MJ state” comments.
He seems to be a sensible leader and the potential to be a great leader in Somali history.
What makes Deni a sensible and qualified candidate ? I know nothing about the politics in Puntland and Somalia.
Thanks in advance.
Federalism brought by reer RX in 50s.federalism is here to stay since the day ethiopia subjugated somalia and wrote the somali constitution.
He has increased accountability in PL as well as transparency regarding tax collection and finances. His main crowning achievement was implementing IC-grade accounting systems in PL, first in Somalia.
He has introduced one man, one vote in PL. Also was crucial in setting up the multi-party system.
Nearly every Somali president had nothing to their name prior to their election.
Deni increased accountability when many Somali leaders would stick to the status quo. That’s why he got my respect.

You forgot to add, AlShaydan used to assassinate people all the time in Galkacyo and they have been eradicated thanks to the people his Government hired.
We just want him to bring Lasscanood under Puntland control.Certain dblocks caay Karash and call him a dabodalif and others say he's not for PL. The man can't win lol
