I've been to somalia People who bleach their skin basically never look natural. she's probably covering how her skin really looks with filters and makeup.

I saw a young lady in Bosaso who had gone deep with the bleaching and it was genuinely uncomfortable to look at her. I do not say this to be mean but I just mean that her skin actually looked greyish, translucent and even veiny at times whilst turning pink in an unusual way quite often. Well somalia is in sub saharan africa where majority of people are dark skinned so that makes light skin very prized. But somalis are next level. Any non deformed light skin person is legit considered attractive by somalis in africa. Not true. There are Somalis that are very pale without being admixed. It's not the norm, but they exist, I have them in my own family.

I would not say pale but olive skin like Arabs or very common in yemanis. I really wonder that if they knew about the risks to their babies, if they would continue, something tells me they would. I've noticed negligent/criminal Somalis like to invoke that it was 'Allah's will' when something befalls them that they did themselves. Of course, not all children born with genetic defects are due to this, but we cannot ignore that these people are poisoning themselves and their lineage.

If a man has any sense, steer clear of these women, they are not well and they will harm themselves, their babies and also pass on this sickness to their daughters/sons.

The qasqas brigade are not happy with imitating regular lightskin, they want to look like actual cadaans and raw chicken. It was not common at all, and it was mostly a north-western thing historically from my understanding. I have a strong suspicion that bleaching was introduced the same way khat was, by Asian/Arab communities. Khat xagee nooga timid, if not Yemenis? Bleaching xagee ka timid, Hindi?

Somalis still don't understand how harmful it is, to allow unbridled Asian migration and their media into our country.
