Gibil Madows are normal Somalis. A certain segment of the Abgaal (Yacquub) were Gibil Madow and in fact the most prominent Benadiri tribe during the 19th century (see thread) Some few might have mixed with Gibil-Cads sometimes but most of the GM tribes are just normal Somalis and the source of the 30-40% Somali ancestry the GCs show in models (sometimes looks Ethiopian/Eritrean in poor models you find on sites like AncestryDNA). GMs are so idistinguishable from normal Somalis that they pretty much avoided any discrimination when the civil war broke out, unfortunately unlike the GCs:
Do you know if the tribe called begedi have benadiri ancestry or are they regular RX

i think it happened a bit later when internet was easy make money to sell bleach + you can get indocrinated just by being on somali fob platforms some of their views have lowkey got to me
somali aunties started this, then it took off with the younger generation back home, they’re the main ones selling it and they are very colorist with their marketing, trying to indoctrinate women (and men by extension) that dark colour is dirty and ugly .. tbh this is how I know colorism was never really a thing in Somalia pre-bleaching era, you wouldn’t have to constantly insult dark colour to sell bleaching products

now that I think of it there are very few ways for women to make money in Somalia .. you can sell clothes and ’beauty products’, that’s it. this is low-cost and you can make decent profit .. in order to stop the bleach brigade you’d have to address the issues of poverty and greed
