This will reduce the tension, but we'll see at the next meeting in September what they come up with. What does that mean?
Is the MoU dead? Can we all go back to our lives now?

Let's be honest now, the whole MoU is dead and will surely remain so. The only way for Ethiopia to actually get it through is to negotiate with a real country. We'll see how it turns out in September but I'm optimistic that in the end, we will sell a stake on one of the ports.Basically nothing happened and talks were postponed until september. Turkey does business with both countries and are now weighing their options on what to do.
Nothing will happen due to incompetence from both sides.
The Ethiopian send a midget for this negotiation

We will probably end up selling a share of one of our ports and resuming the relationship with Ethiopia that we had before and the MoU will be cancelled. What you think is going to happen in September

I find it hard to see a world where the whole world has condemned the illegal MoU and Ethiopia has embarrassed itself diplomatically with pressure from the west that it would go through.
FGS signed several agreements with turks regarding our coast guaranteeing them alot of revenue. Now they want be mediate talks between us and landlocked Ethiopia about a illegal and ineffective mou. President Hassan should of refused talks here.
The turks initiated the talks so its hardly suprising considering their presence in Somalia that President Hassan Sheikh accepted. He shouldn't of. Its not about standing up to weak ethiopia idoor futada ukala taag itobiyaan duliyahowHawiye Turkish Protectorate of Banaadir is too weak to stand up to Ethiopia.
Talks with Turks are better than other alternatives. If this decided by any other country they’d certainly give ethiopia a leg up. We’re also too weak unfortunately, which is a tough pill to swallow, but recognizable.FGS signed several agreements with turks regarding our coast guaranteeing them alot of revenue. Now they want be mediate talks between us and landlocked Ethiopia about an illegal and ineffective mou. President Hassan should have refused talks here.
This was my thoughts too. Without firm hold of the situation, this will be used against Somalia to make demands. These traitors have set a dangerous precedent where any country can now threaten Somalia via SL to get concessions to our resources. At this rate, even Uganda and Burundi will demand ports.
