Let's be honest now, the whole MoU is dead and will surely remain so. The only way for Ethiopia to actually get it through is to negotiate with a real country. We'll see how it turns out in September but I'm optimistic that in the end, we will sell a stake on one of the ports.

We will probably end up selling a share of one of our ports and resuming the relationship with Ethiopia that we had before and the MoU will be cancelled.

I find it hard to see a world where the whole world has condemned the illegal MoU and Ethiopia has embarrassed itself diplomatically with pressure from the west that it would go through.

Talks with Turks are better than other alternatives. If this decided by any other country they’d certainly give ethiopia a leg up. We’re also too weak unfortunately, which is a tough pill to swallow, but recognizable.
