I really couldn’t care less so good luck but I wouldn’t back out the champagne until some real actions happen instead of bogus rumours from shady twitter news agencies.
I didn’t know Al Jazeers was shady Twitter News Agencies especially considering they are biased towards their Somalian slaves in Xamar. It was the Financial Times quoting an US official.

Whether it happens or not, Hargeisa/SL will never be ruled by Xamar. Don’t know when that will sink in to their heads

The US also doesn’t respect the international order. It’s time for SL to get our lick now and then once a Democratic govt gets into office the other Euros & Canadians/Australians will follow suit.
What happened sxb, I thought you were a Somali nationalist now 💀😂

They are closing africom and their base in Djibouti and merging it with EUCOM to save costs. Why would they then turn around and open a new base in Berbera which would require much more in terms of investment than what they are leaving in Djibouti? Makes zero sense.
Djibouti is compromised. US has to import supplies for its base through a chinese partly owned/operated port whilst Berbera is UAE owned(US ally).

Political suicide for any SL admin if they go through with it. Especially in this age of social media, you cannot get away with these deals. Gaalraac accusations would haunt the ruling government for ever.

Geographically, Eritrea is ideal for a base. Berbera is kinda far away from the houthi controlled areas. I don’t see a realistic reason for a US in SL.

If recognition is on the table, what borders will be recognized is what I'm wondering. Also, if UAE follows with recognition, I wonder what the rest of the Arab League would say. I feel like a base is not enough for Trump, I think they'll also push for normalization with Israel as well.

Trump has been wanting to expand the Abraham Accords to get more nation signatories. The fact that there's a lot of articles that keep linking Israel and SL makes me think that it's not just about a base, but normalizing ties as well for a security agreement.

The Houthis are way stronger than most of the pathetic armies of Africa. Putting a target on your back to get recognition is so stupid.
