Cambuulo should become our National dish.

Is this cambuulo? I call it misir

This is misir, and it is way better than cambuulo:

As a nomad, I prefer sorghum (garow) and barley (sareen) instead, both are stable diet rich in proteins, and other minerals.

Is this the same dish people call 'badar' ?

Definitely, a southern dish, I discovered recently, but had it without sugar, no rice, and with yoghurt & olive oil, and did not like it at first till I learnt about its kCal & protein compounds, and it is now a stable stock for heavy gym days.

I’m allergic to cambuulo. Misir sounds like something an Arab wannabe would eat.
Lol, it's Northeast African food. I have only eaten Somali misir (also called caddas) (which is souplike - had it as a side thing for last dinner) and the version of caddas of Sudan, while they have misir as well in Ethiopia and Eritrea. Caddas is a good breakfast. I haven't had it in many years, though.

Sounds like a vegetarian dish maybe. Personally I have the Somali curse of not being able to have a meal without meat(pause nigga) in it.

Nice play on words

but if someone who doesn’t know how to cook makes it. It’ll be tough and the taste of iron will overwhelm the person. It’s cooked best with veggies and heavy seasoning. There’s no better dish, but clearly experiences with the dish vary.

Cambulo doesn't look very appetizing tbh but I like it. We only ate it on weekends and not on school days growing up because it would cause some serious bowel movements for some of us, it should come with a warning lol

You need to combine beans and rice (or some type of grain) to get a complete protein. And try it with sesame oil instead of olive oil it would taste better

Cambuulo and Muufo are From beans and Maize they are Locally produced. They are strong Candidates to be the national Dish.
Please dont think RICE and pasta will be our national dish we barely produce rice in this savannah land.Any national Dish should be Local.Kaluun and Muufo is also another candidate.

The way people eat cambuulo is wrong and people are gaajo they just eat with oil and sugar which is unhealthy.

The correct way is to cook the beans, then prepare seperate dish of Onions,Tomatoes etc and add them you can eat the cambuulo with Muufo as side dish.
