Clan is a very fickle thing, it will not last. Because of what Somalis went through, clan is important but it's weak in its foundation. Ideology is stronger than clan.

Somalis have only been ruled by a central state for 70 years, whilst clan has existed for hundreds and perhaps thousands of years. If anything, the concept of a state is fickle to Somalis since they've historically lived in anarchy.

Somalis are "reer guura", they don't settle in one place so in my opinion clan states aren't beneficial because more conflict arises.
