I wonder what effect it'll have on obesity rates and people's ability to interact/socialize.

Obesity being the result of sedentarism is a meme, honestly. Weight is 99% diet. Take it from someone who's been incredibly sedentary with no exercise for the past 1-2 years and has remained lean and the same weight the entire time. And it's not "genetics" or a freak metabolism as I've been borderline obese in the past and can balloon up quite easily. It's just that I stay away from processed foods and most of the carby stuff.

Being sedentary and cooped up all the time becomes more about mental health decay when you have your diet down.

Agreed, but I meant could it have a positive impact on obesity rates seeing as most people pile on the pounds due to eating shite whilst at work or on their way to work.
I knew the fat insults you were hurling at me were pure projection :pacspit:

Damn. Wallahi, I hadn't thought of that, abowe. Good point. Nowadays I work at my own pace due to owning the business myself but I remember my office job days. Was incredibly hard to eat right. Didn't have any time to "meal prep" the night or morning before and all the restaurants and cafeterias made it hard to eat relatively healthy if you were not loaded. I had to get by everyday on some cheap roasted chicken and kefir from a local hypermarket and that's as someone with some grasp on proper nutrition. I feel for anyone else I worked with. Eating at McD's everyday to get by.

Most cannot. Unless you’re on some form of social assistance and are living in a rent-controlled apartment.

Expenses and needs have gone up (i.e. now you need to factor in the fact that you’ll be providing your kids with cellphones at younger and younger ages).

A woman with her own money can help alleviate the financial burden. For instance, she can buy her (and your) children whatever they need, and can take care of minor expenses. She can also use the money for herself and not badger you with that. Money = freedom.

Not for people in my potential career-path/field :mjcry:

:wow1: Being in a proverbial house cage will make the emotional eaters turn to medicating with processed sugar, gluten and oils. This is bad for the RONA. Fun tidbit, those nations/regions with the lowest gluten consumption have some of the lowest death rates from corona virus. No clue if there is a relationship. What I do know is there is certainly a connection between the gut microbiome and other parts of the body i.e. lungs, brain and immune system.

That's what I mean sxb, you can't work a 9-5 without your diet taking a nose-dive. Sure, you can meal-prep and be autistically regimented with your food but eating 3day old chicken and sweet potato or tilapia will make you borderline suicidal after a while wallahi.

The only people who are against the new working from home set-up seem to cosmopolitan bugmen who left home and work in a town where they have virtually zero relatives/close friends, everyone else is chilling lol. I honestly hope this work from home thing sticks around, I want to place a more active role in my children's lives inshallah.

I had a very healthy relationship with food prior to china-coof and even I noticed myself binging a lot more. RIP the comfort eaters lol. Higher gluten consumption and therefore carb constitution leads to fatties and fatties get btfo'ed by corona. The theory checks out :francis:

I don't think people can be blamed with these stay-at-home orders. The cyclical madness of certain governments giving minor freedoms then taking them away (without evidence-informed data on the effectiveness of these measures) along with crushing the livelihoods of mom-and-pop shops and certain industries will do that.

Our rights and freedoms are gradually being eroded, but a part of me loves the idea of being to earn a living whilst lounging around in my boxers wallahi. Mom-and-pop shops/businesses and the high street in general was on it's last leg even before the coof. It was a matter of time, the government overreach and absolute abuse of power just expedited the process.

Embrace it hunno, we'll go to work in our Amazon™ vehicles, and work in our Amazon™ wage-cages for 16hrs. Only to return to our Amazon™ sleeping pods to enjoy a well balanced meal consisting of bug-protein and hydroponically grown vegetables. The future's bleak but at least we'll have each other. :mjcry:

Most will get lazy and take you for granted. Both genders should be able to work 40 hrs a week even when kids are involved in the West. One partner could do evening/morning shift while the other does a night shift. It’s a different case for the 3rd world. I wouldn’t want a partner in the 3rd world working due to social customs.
