The entire western order is crumbling as we speak. Their golden age is over. The only two things they can boast about was the creation of Israel and the landing on the moon. The last century they had an advantage and golden opportunity to bring out about a just world order that will have been fair to everyone instead they insisted on turning others into carbon copy of themselves, forcing puppets on peoples troaths and eradicating unique historical cultures to local natives like Japan which looks like a joke now and no longer samurai.

They will reap what they sowed and they can only blame themselves. USA is a wounded lion on its last leg after years of strategic blunder wars against muslims that ruined their economy.

People want change everywhere and are tired of uncle sam, europe and western unfair and unjust world order. They blew their chance big time. Fear is not the way to rule. Love is the only solution and they failed at it.

Empires go out in bust and big war. US decline in status might lead to world war as rising power defy them.

They had a shot and they missed it because of their ego while drunk on power subjugating others. Their hipocracy on Israel has been unmasked on all to see for themselves for they pretend to care and defend Ukraine against russian invasion.

The US based western while in absolute decline is not something to be proud of as they are either jews and Christians and believe in GOD. We muslims do not want a godless to take the throne of Earth that is why muslims must now take the leadership, responsibility and restore a just world order that frees mankind from slavery and bring justice on earth.

Bloodless he killed the former president to usurp the position, stop glazing siad

It was the Presidents own bodyguard that killed him, it had nothing to do with Siad Barre or the coup . The perpetrator was trialed in court, jailed and executed soon after.

The coup itself had been planned for 2 years in top secret. I added an interview under with one of the key architects behind the coup and how they planned for a smooth, stable transition and to safe guard security and safety remained.
''The stage was set for a coup d'état, but the event that precipitated the coup was unplanned.''October 15, 1969, a bodyguard killed president Shermarke while prime minister Igaal was out of the country''

The coup wasn't unplanned at all but the event i.e the assassination of president sharmarke was the unplanned part. Thats what it says'. I don't think they could have predicted or meant for that to happen

Here is one of the officers part of the SRC who was the key architects in the coup share how they planned it for 2 years in absolute top secrecy, not even the public knew about it

''We were preparing for a coup for over two years. We never told this to the general public until now'' ''It was a secret plan, and the level of secrecy was extremely high''

The Military government suceeded in ensuring that safety , security remained whilst ensuring whilst a transition of government was happening. Something very rare during the times of a coup d'etat'

And they made their plans and vision for a new Somalia known immediately and announced it during the coup. Not to mention the comprehensive 5 year plan and later the 10 year plan .

Donald Trump might collapse the US in the next 4 years and it will shook the world. He might even spark a global trade war.

Isreal hypocrisy like you said is basically starting to collapse the world order of international law and human rights.

Big changes happening in the next couple of years for sure that will tip the balance of power

It's hard to know. One thing that's predictable there will be large exodus from Canada and US as a result of jobless, corporations relocating and high prices and overrall economic down turn

This is what Supreme Revolutionary Council(SRC) did , they cracked down on the corruption and exploitation. Rolled out a 5 year economic plan right away(it was partly derailed by the drought in 1975 though but they still go a lot done) and then another 10 year plan. They attracted more foreign investment and financing.

After the Ogaden war there was signs of Somalia becoming more democratized and it would have trended in that direction if those Ethiopian/Soviet/Libyan/Isreal sponsored insurgencies and coup attempts didn't derail it. It's a gradual process where you see reforms taking place.

What Siad Barre did was increase civic participation as a response to the public who demanded it. He set up a number of new democratic institutions and a new parliament

@Shimbiris A United States investigative report in 1975, first 5 years into the regime. They actually admit in this report how it seemed like the government set up for Somalia and that the west had no right to show approval or disapproval in the type of government in other countries or impose rigid government on others, as a long as it strives to seek the best for their population.

It sobering to see this type of mature analysis rather than praising corrupt, stagnant , despot democracies, just because they are democracies and uphold your values. United states left that hard lesson and reverted.

“The socialistic regime of General Siad has survived five years, and imposes a stable and effective government on the Horn of Africa today. It is almost certainly one of the least corrupt governments in Africa. General Siad is a recognized leader having just completed a term as Chairman of the Organization of African Unity. He will begin to serve in July as Chairman of the League”

''The present regime has served the Somalis better than any previous government. There has been enormous agricultural and industrial development and the Somali pride has permitted them to address these problems with their own resources and their own tools as the prime resources for all development''

It also says ''It is not in the tradition of the Somali to ask for help; this is particularly true in their dealings with the United States

Most of development in Somalia back then actually came through self-help schemes where Somali communities themselves built stuff on their own with minimal outside money or material , that's how the expansion of Mogadishu happened and development of housings, roads , streets and electriticity in Hargeisa, Lafoole, Afgooye and other places. As well as underground water pipelines etcs
Somalia's transformation in the 70s

It's even more apparent if you look at Mogadishu. The Italians and the previous regime inherited two historical districts, and it remained as two districts that lacked development.
They didn't build new roads, new neighborhoods or districts.

Believe it or not most was actually built through self-help schemes and through mobilizing domestic resources.

They built several affordable social housing units and apartment blocks in other places like Lafoole and Afgooye . But also in Hargeisa and Mogadishu.

how was siad barre better than the democratic era

Me and @Shimbiris is not arguing against democracy. Just that it's not a good starting point. Even Siad Barre regime became more democratized and that was the plan all along hence the name the ''Somali Democratic Republic'' they started to build elected democratic institutions with a general parliament, congresses and committees and run by elected officials in represented social organizations. This went through a rigorous educational process of at least 7 years.

Scroll down through page 19- you will have a break down of it all

I have described in other posts how governmental wise it was less corrupt, more efficient and implemented real effective policy changes and more stable.
The 1960 attempt at democracy failed because Somalia was a new nation that lacked the infrastructure, institutions, and systems required for smooth governance in place and needed a centralized control to build it.

Believe it or not most succesfull modern day democracies today didn't start of as a democracy, they either began as monarchies or dictatorship, even the ones that made huge transformations like for example Singapore and South korea, started as one party dictatorships. Look at how impoverished and behind they were in the 1950s/60s, even a bit worse than Somalia at the time. Lower living standards, literacy 20% and lacking in industries and infrastructure.

Why did they work out? because dictatorships are often associated with long-term planning because leaders are not constrained by the short electoral cycles or the need to appease voters. This can allow for focused, visionary economic policies, especially when a country is in need of modernization.

A dictator can play a key role in unifying a country, particularly in cases where the country is ethnically, religiously, or regionally fragmented. By suppressing divisions and creating a sense of national identity, a dictatorship can lay the groundwork for future democratic governance

Over time, as the population becomes more educated and politically active under a dictatorship, they may demand greater participation and representation. This pressure can lead to democratization.

You saw that with the pressures they made for increased political participation and how he allowed for that , which indicates Somalia was heading to a more democratization. This was right after the Ogaden war btw

You also saw the gradual reforms that was talking place. All the opposition had to do was slowly facilitate this process or capitalize on the foundations created by the regime.
They decided on a single party dictatorship as the best model to move Somalia forward after reviewing the situation. The previous regime stalled development, they created so many different political and social organizations that sowed discontent among the masses, practiced maladministration and they were pre-occupied with funding their election campaigns then implementing long term policy changes.
When SRC took over they had a budget surplus that was meant to be used as self-financing for development expenditure , but they ended up using it instead for the 1974 and 1975 drought relief efforts. And they mobilized domestic resources efficiently for development.

The regime of 1960 was the opposite ,the corruption was really bad and it was what set the stage for the coup.

A little a bit about the improved administrative efficiency:
The biggest thing Introduction of Somali as an administrative language did was make government administration more efficient and aimed at uniting Somalis because it isolated them form one another as it created an administrative language barrier within the administration.

Thanks to this they were able to make many new administrative reforms and weed out dishonest managers and employees from the state apparatus.

''eliminating the plethora of parasites who had entered the offices through channel of tribal clientelism''

But yeah i encourage you to read the whole report, what changes to place following the introduction of somali as a governing language.
