Which is more effective in building upper body muscles?


I don't want to end up like Zoolander (only big biceps but no big chest).

Do both.
Bench press is a compound movement, you are working more mucles but primary chest so your body produces more testosteron which is the key to gains.

I usually do bench first than incline dumbell press to work more on my upper chest.

I love staring at men who are so defined ;) such a blessing to be at a mixed gym I can work on weights whilst looking at awesome hunks aaah

If you are a skinny guy/weak guy, start with machine chest press. This is easy to control and hits more muscles. If you are already strong, do barbell bench press. Go with really heavy weights, take a friend with you and focus on the negative part only. Let him raise it (help him), and you just resist it slowly to your chest. This leads to explosive muscle growth. Get some rest, eat plenty of protein (fish, eggs, peanut butter, beef etc.).

Just completed a cycle of 5x5 SL.
Bench was 272lbs.

Mashallah bro holy thats impressive im benching max is 190 right now but 272lbs is insane. I use to hit 225 earlier in the year while bulking but ramadan screw up my routine its only a month since i been back


How much do you weigh?


I only do 5x5 during winter to bulk up right im cutting higher reps lower weights

I can squat about 175 pounds so far im hoping to improve over 200 by end year. Slowly but surely

At first my form was shit but now i been mastering it.
