For tplf to have attacked Eritrea means they have full unequivocal support from either Sudan or Egypt probably both otherwise it’s a suicidal move.

I read this article seems like Sudan will play big role. It is a shame Ethiopia collapses now while Somalia is in such a bad state.

Perhaps egypt is helping in exchange for a base in tigray, which would be close enough for the egyptian air force to strike the dam? sudan could also give egypt a base, but maybe sudan doesn't want to anger ethiopia's powerful white friends/daddies-israel, us, uk, and others.

there's risks involved cuz 1) if its exposed they caused ethiopia to balkanize then it'll ruin their public standing and 2) its not a guaranteed success so theres a good chance they fail and have to deal with ethiopia filling the dam too quickly

I think they're are banking on IC intervention, they want to enter the negotiations as equal partners. They can be taken serious if they cause damage.
