The claim that the Banaadiri people were the original founders of Mogadishu faces historical contradiction. Ptolemy's Geographia, written in the 2nd century, mentions Sarapion, an ancient port situated in the vicinity of Mogadishu. This directly challenges the claim, as Sarapion was part of a trade route that included the Market of Spices and the emporium of Opone, indicating a pre-existing trading network. Furthermore, evidence dates the Banaadiri presence to the 13th century. Hence, the narrative of them being present in earlier times is weakened by Sarapion's existence as a trading place in the 2nd century and the established Banaadiri arrival in the 13th century.

She already claimed that Arabs and Persians were living on the coast for 2000 years, doesn't mean anything to them.

At the beginning of the 1 century CE all the regions stretching up to Zanzibar were apart of the kingdom of saba. Mogadishu, Merca, Barawa, lamu and mombasa were all apart of the ancient kingdom of saba. Read the benadiri: The renewal of the millinery identity. Chronicles also indicate the existence of Arab/Persian civilization before the birth of the prophet mohamed(PBUH).

The Saebans were maritime people with a large kingdom in Yemen. They used the seasonal monsoon winds to travel regularly to the East African coast. Arabs founded and established the coastal settlements along the Indian Ocean and Red Sea in present day Somalia.

"Pre-Islamic Arabs and Persians founded trading enterprises at Zeila on the Gulf of Aden and Mogadishu on the east coast. In the seventh century, Islamized Arabs strengthened these trading centers and introduced Islam to Somalia." (Mary arnold)

Scholar David Hamilton asserts "that from time immemorial, the coastal towns along the northern Somali shores have been politically subject to the Arabian states."

The Benadiri people originate from "mercantile urban communities" established by the ancient Arabs/Persians. Benadiris are the precursors of the pre-Islamic arabs and persians that ruled the coastal settlements of modern day Somalia. We wuz kangs and sheet๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚.
