Back in 2007 CM did indeed build berkedo and whatnot on land which were agreed to not be built. Those berkedos were later demolished, and ever since new ones have, as far as I know, not been constructed. The recent clashes began when wiilal geel raacayeen oo hawdka u soo naqraacay la dilay. Those killings were, to my knowledge, not planned by the leaders of Bahararsame, but rather executed by youngsters oo ka xanaaqsanaa in magtii qayb kamid ah uu CM la soo daahay from the earlier clashes. The other reasons you'll hear about dhulballaarsi etc are not true. They agreed that a reconciliation meeting will be held within a month (what's left, two weeks?), waxa ka soo baxa aynu sugno.

Technically this is good for the SFG as it deligitimises Puntland and Somalilands claim of power. They will be seen as clan enclaves fighting themselves.
