Puntland didn't instigate this war it was Somaliland that attacked puntland base in sool when puntland was suffering from farmaajo fever. It is Somaliland officials that are constantly talking about how they are close to garowe and threatening militarily our state.
Puntland has been patient for far too long..you don't know about northern politics so before you accuse of puntland stepping outside their lane I strongly advise you to educate yourself about the puntland Somaliland and in particular dhulbahante politics before you step out of your lane little lady..
Somaliland has been encroaching on puntland soil using hired has been so called family politicians for the past decade..
Puntland has never responded with military action before for the sake of preventing Somali blood or better yet harti blood from being spilled...but no more, there are days of peace and there are days of war..peace flew out of the window with Somalilands most recent extremely provocative moves..

I honestly believe that somaliland believes in the eventual union of all somalis. However, they want the union on their terms, and moves like this tell me they are.

I don't think you understand, this whole union thing is a sailed ship for Somaliland. Political unity of all Somalis is a delusion and history is evidentlce to that. Somaliland makes it possible for people to move on with their lives. Why are some Somalis so caught up on fake "unity" when deep down noone really believes in that bs. It's all about sub sub sub sub... Clan to most Somalis and that is the reality we need to accept and move on. If there's a functioning entity providing oportunities for Somalis then we should support it and not start this nonesense.
It's a sailed ship for somaliland RIGHT NOW. The reason somaliland seperated is, because they didn't have enough power, control, or representation in the federal government.
All I'm saying is if they reach a point where they become the most powerful, they will no doubt conquer garowe and even mogadishu. It's highly unlikely though.

I get your point but there's nothing to suggest that Somaliland ever wants to capture Garowe or Mogadishu for that matter. The Tukaraq thing is nothing more than trying to secure the actual borders of Somaliland and pushing puntland back. Majority of the poeple there want nothing to do with Somalia proper and it has being like this for the past 27 yrs or so.

What do you mean? My point was, Somaliland put the "Somaliweyn/political unity of all somalis" thing to bed once the Union backfired and proved to be based on nothing more than which clan/sub clan can eat the most and step on all others. I do not think it is healthy to continue to hold on to dilusional ideas such as this. The point of a government for ordinary people is to govern enough so they can live their lives and Somaliland has been doing that well enough.
