The only people I've seen look cute are Somali wedding guests.

I wonder if the textiles were made in-house pre-civilwar. I remember seeing an old video of the Somali Republic investing in the textile manufacturing and looking to restart that industry, in the 70s/80s I think

We should aspire to rebuild our infrastructure in this way. Not only do we have a marketable fashion and culture, we have a location that would let us make real money off it.
Also did Alindi originate in Somalia? Because I heard Uganada tried to trademark it or something. They cannot be that shameless can they?
Most UK Somalis are SL I think? I've not run into many of us so I wouldn't know but I read a statistic somewhere.
I think vocabulary is less of an issue than actively selling the idea that we're a mix of africa and the middle east with no originality.
