This is the issue right here. Bantus from Kenya, Tanzania, Zanzibar and beyond are wearing our clothes and literally using our language, and trying to pretend there is a 'shared' culture. Additionally, they are even adding insult to injury, by ascribing our clothes to the Arabs that colonised them.

Then the civilwar happened..

I wonder if the textiles were made in-house pre-civilwar. I remember seeing an old video of the Somali Republic investing in the textile manufacturing and looking to restart that industry, in the 70s/80s I think
Traders moved their production to india/ME after ’91 it seems

We should aspire to rebuild our infrastructure in this way. Not only do we have a marketable fashion and culture, we have a location that would let us make real money off it.

Also did Alindi originate in Somalia? Because I heard Uganada tried to trademark it or something. They cannot be that shameless can they?

are diracs 100% unique only to our culture?, I ask because I don't know and also large parts of our culture come from many parts of the world due to our seafaring history as a trade route for african nations and nations across asia.

asking sincerely

We created it https://x.com/virtualalindi/status/1405187464998928385?mx=2 Theres photos of us wearing it back in the day. I have not come across any other groups during those time periods wearing it or documented in the same way it has been for us. We introduced it to these other communities. If you scroll up to the post @Varriris made it notes the communities we influenced with our textiles and fabrics.
