Diversity of Somali hair

I don't think these men are Somalis, perhaps some other Cushitic group

My hair is confused depending on length, weather and humidity it can be mix between straight, wavy and curly so but averages from 2c to 3b,

I think 1-2 type hair are uncommon type 3& 4 are the most common
I got similar to 1-2. Alxhamdulilah it has not balded or thinned in 28 years compared to the timo jilac peeps I know. For decades I was insulted as Timo jareeer now I have the last laugh MUWAHAHAH.

Why is jareeer being redefined in this thread. You guys do know that 4a and 4b is more common in madow groups then 4c right 😂
Type 4 hair is hard to define. I think this website does a good job though.

You have "tight curly" hair, which is the type that most Somalis have (as well as madow groups with cadaan admixture like AAs):

Tight curly hair:

Tight curly or helical hair is intermediate between curly and kinky hair. It is common in North and East Africa, especially among Ethiopids, in Melanesia and parts of the West Pacific, in Madagascar, and in some South Indian, South East Asian, and Australian groups. Geographically, two varieties exist: a regular curvature more frequent in Africa, and an irregular curvature more frequent in Melanesia. African-Americans may show this hair type frequently, like other people of combined Sub-Saharan and European ancestry.

Then you have "kinky hair", which is the hair-type that most madows of pure ancestry have:

Tbh Ive never seen someone get clowned for having jareeeer hair. Must be a xalimo thing because I've never seen a Somali dude get clowned for having 4a/4b hair.

4c somalis are a small minority as well.
No ethnic Somali has 4b/c hair, that is ultimate jareeeer hair. I swear some of yall see tight curls and call it 4c.

I think 4b might be a thing among some Somalis but no way 4c is a thing lol. You have to be very black (>80%) to have that hair texture

Anyways type 4 isn't very common among Somalis in general. If it was, then the term jareeer wouldnt make much sense since the term was meant to differentiate ethnic Somalis from madows. We would have ended up discriminating each other based on hair type lol
