Domestic violence: Are the men always provoked? Who's the real victim?

I had a debate with someone earlier. Of course he said the real victims are the men because they're provoked and after they react they are either put in jail or given a bad rep.


Alxamdullillah I've never experienced domestic violence, and none of my loved ones did.

The first thing that comes to mind when we hear domestic violence is physical abuse. What about mental/emotion abuse and verbal abuse? I think they're worse than physical. You can heal physically but you cannot heal from mental/emotional abuse. I've heard it takes years and years of therapy to get over it.



I heard certain qabiil beats women, and the poor women have been brainwashed to think the man loves them if they are beaten.


A young bride got married to a guy from diaspora, the couple hailed from that certain tribe. Since the groom believed not beating women, the young bride ran back to her family crying. When asked what was wrong she said my husband doesn't love me, he never beats me.

Poor poor brainwashed young girl.

Any adult that can't control their anger to the extent that they will resort to violence is a possible nutjob in my book. Especially if they do it against their own family and loved ones. I honestly have a hard time understanding it.

Provoked or not, a man can restrain a woman without using force. Walaahi I witnessed a man beating on his girlfriend a few days back and that was his excuse. He claimed she assaulted him but he wouldn't have stopped beating her if my friends and I didn't intervene and call the cops. I actually think he would have killed her because when we arrived and stopped him, she could barely walk and has been in the hospital ever since. I don't think I will ever be able to forget her face.

Don't be quick to blame the male! Some women have very sharp tongues. Most of the times, the only way to make her stfu is to hit her, to humble her a bit. I've witnessed women accusing their husbands of things they did not do, then they don't listen to the explanation and start insulting the man wtf? Then there are those who disagree with their husbands on important matters out of ignorance! There are also those who are very lenient when socialisin with men, they smile, laugh and even flirt! I cannot bear the thought of my future wife (in sha Allah) socialising, walking, speaking and flirting with other men, it would be even worse if it was in my absence!

We did. We spent 2 hours giving our statements and then waited for an ambulance to come and take her to the hospital. It took 3 guys to get him off of her.
