It's why all of madow Africa only exports raw materials instead of building industry. Small scale industries unified under a cooperative structure can do wonders for this issue. For example a limestone processing plant in kismayo a small one can be divided into sections that grow with time if good governance and strict quotas are implemented.
It seems harsh (especially for lazy ‘money now’ Somalis ) but you just need to whither the storm of complaints and pray for any breakdowns or issue to be minimal. Once you get past this phase of startup you can buy more storage and equipment for selling then monopolize and drive out foreign competitors at a loss initially but soon you’ll reap in profit .
Somalis did this with great success to take over eastleigh Nairobi from the Indians we saw the issue and formed cooperatives ( clan support framework ) and sold things at lower prices and in single unit instead of Hindi (12) packs. We went from having low market share to having nickname of ‘little Mogadishu’ in less than 10 years. It is very possible but needs trust and patience something Africans lack expect for few like Somalis.. sadly uneducated low productivity clan dynamics turn us into merchants and businessmen with extremely small amount of industrialists.
