Every Southern town has a famous poet but they weren't all making songs for Waaberi so you wouldn't know them.
This is how far our poetry goes

I exaggerated but it was from mogadishu to kismaayo, around 2002-2003. And his poems are general, and for all somalis so I don't know what you're talking about???? The only ones that were specific was during Afweyne time.
They're all targeted at a Somaliland audience and read out in your people's events. He's your poet.
Who are the people in the picture? Also did I say no one knows of Hadraawi?
Cambodians holding Hadraawi's book.
You would've said it but you just didn't want to sound stupid. Hargeisa is/will be home of Somali literature, Poetry is not the attributes of your people but looting is
They're all targeted at a Somaliland audience and read out in your people's events. He's your poet.
You're a real salty hater. He's the archetype somali. He's the embodiment of what it means to be a somali. I just told you he did a peace walk from mogadishu to kismaayo yet you say he only goes to SL events. I could post several general somali events he took part In but there's no choice. Your ego won't allow you to understand that the greatest somali alive and one of the greatest in history karbaashed the faqash.
Waaberi made him famous. Name one poem post Waaberi that all Somalis would know? I don't care waxuu ku daaran jirey odeygiina. Without Waaberi he would've been unheard of.
You're an idiot. Somalis respect ppl for their oratory skills and waaberi didn't give him that nor did they give him the audience. Hadraawi worked for radio mogadishu and He was known when he was in yemen before he even blew up in the peninsula.
Talabaad xasan aden samatar who was part of waaberi koonfur most famous song was beledweyne which hadraawi wrote. Your a hater wallahi, and you have a lot of cuqdad.
I don't have cuqdad or a reason for cuqdad I did not lose anyone to Hadraawis clan. I said he was famous because he wrote classic songs for Waaberi then you go and tell me he did just that I don't know why. He wrote for Magool too, Jaceyl miyaa dhiig kagu qoray which was famous internationally. I just said he hasn't produced well known songs and poems since his hey day and that he's now mainly insulated in his homeland with his people.
Your initial point was he's not a somali icon, and is only a SL icon. Then you insinuated his fame came after these songs were sang by waaberi, which is historically inaccurate....go back to your initial point about how he's not a national icon and stick to proving that, your slander at how he came to fame is not even worth mentioning tbh
I still stand by my earlier comments but you're misunderstanding them. Hadraawi doesn't even want to be a Somali icon, he wants his people to hold him as theirs. He's your odey that's a fact. He might've had some fame before Waaberi but it's not what made him an icon, Waaberi did that and Waaberi were not a clan or an ideology and many of them like him supported the end of that government do I don't know why you're getting worked up over me stating that fact.
Warya calm down with that bs. Greatest Somali poet of this age was Dhoodhaan aun. No competition.Hadraawi did a peace walk from Burco to kismaayo, and is the greatest somali poet ever. It's not our fault yall don't know somali. Matter of fact what poets do yall even have in koonfuria
How can he be a national icon when he's a Somalilander? Isn't that like Hans Christian Anderson being a national icon to America because they like his fairytales?
Also I didn't say he wasn't a great poet you're getting your panties in a twist for nothing. His iconic works were from a different era and a lot has changed since then including Hadraawis nationality and where he is most popular i.e. where his newer works are known.
