Ethiopia completes its Renaissance dam project

I swear that if they continue to advance like this and no one stops them, we will be Ethiopians in the near future

The thing is, prior the start of the project, Egypt lobbied all of their allies and managed to get the support of America, Israel and Arab League behind them against Ethiopia. It reached a point where Ethiopia were only allowed limited access to international loans.

Over the years, they've been pressured to more or less succumb to Egypt. Trump even said that Egypt might 'blow up' the damn, and he wouldn't blame them. Due to Ethiopia not willing to concede their stance during the negotiations, the US even cut aid to Ethiopia (lol) in an effort to make them accept some of Egypts concerns or at least take more serious. They still stood by their negotiating stance.

After observing all of the obstacles Ethiopia faced from the beginning until the end, and the fact that they managed to withstand all of this pressure says more than the project itself. As Abiy is asserting more power internally and externally, his influence will just increase and take us back to the days of Meles and his level of development.

Also, the disputes haven't ended yet as there're no agreement to date. Two days ago, Egypt urged the Arab league to pressure (for the thousand time, lol) to stop Ethiopia from filling the dam without their approval. As every other attempt, they've been unsuccessful.

If they attacked the dam half of sudan would literally drown

How come Sudan plays a minimal role in the disputes when it affects them too?

Sudan needs to be independent from Ethiopia and especially avoid being used as pawns by Egypt to push for their interests. Get a separate agreement, and then let Egypt and Ethiopia go at each other by themselves.

Sudan is going tru their 1991 fase so they cant do anything in the moment. Egypt doesnt even need to attack ethiopia themselves. They can just pay a tribal militia in ethiopia to blow it up for them

Bruh, their civil war doesn't even compare to Somalia in the slighest. Millions upon millions have perished in all of their wars. First Sudanese civil war 55-72, second sudanese civil war 83-05, Darfur war 05-20 etc. The only difference is that the capital was always in government's hands up until now when the warring sides are fighting in the streets of Khartoum.

Egypt have tried to support rebels in Ethiopia, but the Eth gov't have always came out at top. Now with the Tigray war behind them, they've deployed heavy forces and round-the-clock surveillance of the site, I highly doubt that anything can be done to the there. Also, you need sophisticated people and equipments to be able to cause any damage to the dam, let alone on on a big scale to blow it up. An air strike seems to be the only plausible way and that seems unlikely to happen by a non-gov't actor.

Fucking 6 days war when a bunch of Arabs including Egypt invaded tiny Isreal and lost. Egypt lost the sinai peninsula ffs.
Thats not what happened, there was no real war because Israel handicapped Egypt because they got snitched on. Israel attacked them first because the Moroccan King, many Syrian high officials, and the Egyptian President's son-in-law all snitched to Mossad. The Arab League had a private meeting in a hotel and the Moor King had the Israelis tap into it. Then Israel attacked first while the Egyptian and Syrian forces were grounded. It completely destroyed their Air Force and weakened their military greatly. Without anyone to protect it, Israel was able to take the Sinai. The Soviets were double agents siding with Israel and lied to the Jordanians and convinced them not to attack. Arabs lost because they arent united and they arent trustworthy.

The Suez Crisis of 1956 is a better example of Arab war power, Egypt beat Israel, France and the UK.

what does this mean for us? :browtf:
Politically? Ethopia being dominant on Horn African countries, and having leverage on Egypt, and Sudan.

Economically? Again dominant ethiopia, but we could also get some benefits from rich ethiopia.

I am calling on Sisi to draft all male SomaliSpotters except Omar del Sur. my proposal is each male SomaliSpotter be sent to Eritrea to train with Isaias Afwerki and form the Ahmed Gurey Division. then Sisi drops the nukes. then... I haven't figured out the rest yet but that's what I've got so far.

Egypt messed up by not opening up a second front when Somalia captured the Ogaden. If they landed in Eritrea and pushed towards Addis and Somalia pushed in the same direction, Ethiopia would have ceased to exist and the Soviet Union would not have intervened to salvage the remnants of Derg. Egypt and Somalia could have set up multiple new countries like Oromia, Afaria, Eritrea, Harar Emirate, etc all friendly to both countries and Egypt and Somalia would no longer have to worry about an ancient foe ever again.

Instead they did nothing in 77’, nothing in 64’, nothing in 82’ and they did nothing in 06’, so today Somalia should grab the popcorn and enjoy the entertainment, it has nothing to do with us.

I don't anyone would, except for some keyboard warriors in their fantasy world 🀣

Our past wars against them should suffice. Egypt being a nation of hundred million people doesn't need more manpower from elsewhere unless they view SSA inferior to them and want to use us as cannon folders :icon e confused:
