Are Amhara not included?*Eritrean & Tigrayan invasion. Ethiopians have nothing to do with Aksum
40% of Amhara carry J1 Yemeni haplogroups, not sure how they got to the highlands, but you it's spread in smaller amounts within Afar and Eriterians(though it peaks in smaller communities) Tigryina are like 60% E-M78, mostly E-V22.Are Amhara not included?
What smaller communities Tigray? And doesnβt that make trigryina Cushitic like us?40% of Amhara carry J1 Yemeni haplogroups, not sure how they got to the highlands, but you it's spread in smaller amounts within Afar and Eriterians(though it peaks in smaller communities) Tigryina are like 60% E-M78, mostly E-V22.
Linguistically they are semitic, ethnically they are cushitc. Don't forget that proto semities carried E-Z830.What smaller communities Tigray? And doesnβt that make trigryina Cushitic like us?
Yemenis are in denial in the comment section. They claim that Abraha wasn't a horner at all and he was actually yemeni*Eritrean & Tigrayan invasion. Ethiopians have nothing to do with Aksum
Those guys love claiming HOA history, ESPECIALLY coffee, and our clothing. Annoying peasants.Yemenis are in denial in the comment section. They claim that Abraha wasn't a horner at all and he was actually yemeni
There other 40% is j1 then I guess? They have their own language right so despite Cushitic ancestry why do they speak a Semitic language instead dont they border afarLinguistically they are semitic, ethnically they are cushitc. Don't forget that proto semities carried E-Z830.
It's because they language-shifted. They received cultural, linguistic, and genetic influence from South Arabians who immigrated to the northern Horn of Africa roughly around 3,000 years ago. That's why they have a high frequency of J1 paternal haplogroups, speak Ethio-Semitic languages, and write using the South Arabian-derived Ge'ez script. There other 40% is j1 then I guess? I assume the J1 men were originally an army of Yemenis that the Axum kings brought over and eventually settled/rewarded lands. It's because they language-shifted. The genetic influence is evident not only in their paternal haplogroups but also in their autosomal DNA, as they are approximately 20~30% South Arabian, with this percentage gradually increasing further north and toward the coast. Tigrinyas are around 70% Cushitic, Amharas around 75~80% Cushitic, and some South Ethio-Semitic groups like the Gurage and Harari can be as much as 85% Cushitic, while Somalis generally range between 90~100% Cushitic. For Reference, Cushitic speaking Bejas are 60~70% Cushitic, the rest being Arabian.
This is not a unique occurrence in history btw; similar language shifts have happened in countries like Turkey and Sudan.
Why didnβt the beja lose their language despite having Arabian input? Also what makes up the remaining 10% of our dna? It's because they language-shifted. Taking the semetic would just increase their Omotic ancestry, they would somewhat look like the Agaw. Also if south Arabian makes up approx 20 -30% of their dna, would it be far fetched to say pre mixing they were more of less the same as us phenotypically and linguistically? They have Cushitic ancestry and haplogroups and we have around 38% Eurasian which means +20 makes sense since they have around 60% eurasian.
