Interesting, didn't know about this. If they end up connecting with Somalia, it will probably be Xamar-Nairobi/Mombasa where a significant part of the country's population live.

I can't forsee that we'll get any railway along the coast (with the exception of connecting with ports), since it doesn't make sense outside of the south. In the north/east, it's better to have one that goes alongside Xamar-Beledweyne-Galkacyo-Garowe-Boosaso, since the larger settlements is located in the western parts of GM and PL. Probably the most efficient use of rail. And then implement the same in SL and SSC as well.

Once HIPC is complete it will normalize ties with international donors and will facilitate the path to getting development grants to invest in key priorities of the NDP9.

NDP9 is mostly focused on strengthening security and government institutions from what I was able to read. Creating security, law and order by removing ATMIS and SNA taking over , setting troop size goal and female participation quotas, education improvement building schools, training competent judges and lawyers, registering voters over 18 and creating fair election. They also hit on increasing health getting more training and hospitals and improving access to water.

The goals start on page 89. The economic section hardly has any future Targets and is mostly blank. Hopefully next development plan hits on things like railways and factories

What happened with the railway? The rail tracks doesn't exist there anymore

It’s nowhere to be seen- I remember seeing something that might’ve looked like old rail tracks in Mogadishu… was not wearing my glasses so I’m not too sure

Does anyone know where the old Mogadishu railway station is?

They were investing big time before the war they wanted to build track from mogadishu to adis ababa lol cant imagine what that would have done to our demographics
