From Sainsbury’s to Somalia!

Guys I used to work there from age 17-20. Before I quit I was a senior colleague and probably 1-2 years away from a managerial position. Wallahi this nigga was deadass 2 job roles above me and he worked for FGS for 5 years.Anything’s possible in life if you put your mind to it.

I looked up the guy and he seems to be Reer Baydhabo judging by his social media posts. Another clear example of the failure of 4.5 system of governance, giving a certain clan way more representation than they need unfortunately results in unqualified buffoons like this being given power.

you came across the Grocery store clerk/manager to Somali Minister pipeline.:ftw9nwa:

Wouldn't be surprised if he was granted that position by being someones ina adeer or qarabo.

Being shameless enough to post on LinkedIn is crazy though, especially when you weren’t even the main store manager

Most people tend to swap out their first retail job out of their linkedin once they get a higher professional related work experience.

But it could depend though, if he was born before the civil war, he could have had a related work experience or a similar post that could make him qualified, i know a handful that downgraded once they became refugees like a Pilot becoming a driving instructor and Engineer becoming a cab driver and so on. It's all too common.

We don’t know what he used to do before the civil war. I have uncles that had degrees and masters from the biggest university in Xamar in the 70s and got graduate jobs in the gov in the late 70s. When they became refugees in the early 90s, they ended up becoming cab drivers. Some of them ended up coming back to Somalia and now have high positions.

I think it’s a tad complicated for the over 58+ crowd because many of them were very educated and had gov positions before the collapse of Somalia.

However, I’ll forever side eye the 40 something yr olds who left the country as teens, never went to uni and ended up having dead end job but go back to higher positions due to tribal affiliations. That’s a joke as these lot aren’t educated and have never worked in a professional job, nor have they truly experienced how Somalia used to be.

If trump and liz truss can run one of the biggest powers in the world, you also can run one of the weakest countries in the world.

It’s not just about having tribal affiliation. You also have to pay considerable amounts of bribe money to get the xildhibaan posts.

Yep, which is why you have a surplus of truck drivers who make a lot of money bribing people with $100K, despite not even finishing formal schooling. Its of a no brainer why our country is a joke. Everyone and their hooyo can be easily bought.

A tad different since they have the fortune of being surrounded by intelligent people who do most of the leg work backed by an institution that has been around for more than a century. Imagine our country, a whole cabinet filled with the likes of Trump and Truss with one not being better than the other?
