Garacad's last 2 berths will have container capability, there will be mobile harbor cranes and trucks to transport them to the storage area like this. Those ports had external funds not like garcaad.

There are no container cranes or storage areas or warehouses to make this place as competitive as Djibouti, Kenya and Berbera.
This port will barely be able to hold fifty twenty foot containers when Mombassa, Berbera and Djibouti can hold thousands at a time.
The highway from Galdogob to Garacad isn’t even dual-carriageway, which is required for trucks. By making it single lane, we may genuinely end up killing people.
Good development but it’s a disappointment in my books.
Correct, that is why port just finish phase 1.Garacad's last 2 berths will have container capability, there will be mobile harbor cranes and trucks to transport them to the storage area like this.
This guy is as naive as the Parisian concubine who when she heard that the people didn’t have enough bread to eat, suggested that they should eat cake.
Comparing external funded and pretty much foreign owned ports to a locally initiated, locally funded, and locally managed project is naive at its best. Garacad is a succes story, it showed that Somalis can build huge infrastructures by themselves without asking useless NGOs for help. I rather make 1 million working for myself than 2 million working for someone else.

They didn't finalise port yet, still they finish first phase. All the major ports in my country, Australia, as well as other major nations are owned by foreign companies.
No one judges development on who owns it but on the development itself.
As I said, it’s a good development but building for the sake of building will hurt us in the future.
Also, it was not a Parisian concubine but Marie Antoinette, the former Queen of France. Fun fact, that quote is also fake.
If you’re unsure on how Marie Antoinette is, check @Basra profile pic.

I guess you like to be compared to a French queen as opposed to a Parisian concubine.
Are you sure you are Cumar Maxmuud? you sound angry about this project and highly critical instead of lauding this local achievement you belittle it. Just say congrats and move on.Neither a French queen or a Parisian concubine uttered the quote.
So you actually compared me to nothing.
Quit while you’re ahead.

Garacad is doing well with what it has received. It'll eventually get there.
Berbera had 1.2bn spent on it.
Give Garacad that much it'll look like that too, people really don't understand economies of scale.
Garacad is about creating a natural economy in central Somalia that will self sustain itself and develop based on the the economics of the area

Ciil qabow ciil u dhinta Im glad Khayre was thrown out for his embarassing rejection of Garacad
Farmaajo only crime was staying silent but that could be complicity who knows. We all know Farmaajo toured Puntland with grace he has no qualms with shacabka PuntlandFarmaajo also refused to support this project and has been opposed to it from day 1. Not just Kheyre.
Khayre and Farmaajo were allies and in agreement to stifle Garacad's development so no need to try to rewrite history.
