Harla are mentioned in the Futuh al habesha .There is a town called Harla in Oromo region till this day .They were just another Cushitic group who declined in status due to the Oromo expansions after the Ahmad Gragn war .some harla people fled to Somali territory whilst others were killed or assimilated into Oromo clans . The ajuuraan clan was also powerful at one point , but they are also found scattered around the horn , though the decline of Harla is far more mysterious and profound .

I forgot to add that the HARLA people are not exactly extinct . You will find their descendants assimilated into Oromo and Somali clans .

Yes the Harla have been assimilated to Oromo and the Somali clans that neighbor them. That's why Ogaden is so big. We ate them
