She is demented though. We are using the English language and words have meanings attached to them, it's how we communicate. A nationality and an ethnicity are two different things. My nationality is Canadian, it can change. Ethnicity is your blood, it's who you are and it'll never change. Just stop plz this is boring.

It's based on genetics not language alone. We're all speaking English here but we are not Anglo-Saxons. Cushitic is a term for a wider group that includes Somalis. Somali is a specific ethnic group.

This comes from the ethnic background, Somalis, and the name of a whole country, Somalia, being intermingled. She's placing a distinction on her identity by using her tribe and nationality as identifiers, bc claiming "Somalis" would inevitably have you mistaken as a person from Somalia for the average outsider. The fact is, Somalis were never a unified monolith as some of you ppl like to push.
