You know how there are cowardly polygamists back home, who like to have secret wives. Well, I heard a story about a woman who had 3 husbands on the go, she would give them appointment times to come over, and she clearly collected checks from them all. The only reason she got found out is because 2 of her husbands were discussing their secret wife, and they realised it's the same woman.



If they were honest to begin with, and publically declared all their wives, none of this would happen. But they insist on playing with fire.

There's no comparison, a man marrying another woman, in secret or not is still halal.
When rasullulah married a new wife he wouldn't go and visit all his wives and tell them about the news would he.

I don't really understand why one would do that. Like your first wife is going to find out eventually, and when she does, all hell will break loose. And how would your other wife feel that you're hiding her or embarrassed of her. I think if a man is considering a second wife, he should do it for the right intentions, not just to fulfill his desires. And should approach the matter openly. If he truly loved and respected his first wife, he would communicate with her and seek her permission beforehand.

I meant secret as in not telling your current wife, how can It be a secret if you are married unless you live in a cave that's public info

I thought Qudbo Siro was a Shia innovation. On which planet is it acceptable to have secret wives and secret children.

I have a suspicion that the 'multiple' husband rumour, is caused by men withholding divorce on purpose, to financially abuse/manipulate these secret wives. I know a woman, not Somali, who was in a secret marriage, the man refused to divorce her after mistreating her. She told me that she is considered 'divorced' after a certain period of time anyway. Naturally, her 'husband' that refused to divorce her, will get angry when she gets a new husband, and claim she is a two-timing Zaniyah.

So, it is possible that some of these women, are being accused of having multiple husbands, but in reality, these men are just refusing to divorce these secret wives, and thus, a woman can end up with 'several husbands'.

Ultimately, this is all rooted in men trying to take advantage of impoverished women, and treat them like dirty secrets.

Can someone tell me what women can do, if they are 'married' to a man (secret marriage), and the man refuses to divorce her. Does she get an automatic divorce at some point. Because these rumours of multiple husbands are making me suspicious now.

she can apply for faskh to terminate the marriage. Any shariah court should make it possible.
