DOsent seem to be a harsh policy, but I genuinely hope trump does something about the illicit trade going on where fent is coming in from the south. Not sure what he wants with canada, I heard they have some problems but not as bad. Maybe just morale booster for his fans

lol. Canadian trump supporters are goofs. I'm going to verbally smack one of my Trumptard coworkers tomorrow when I see him.

I'm interested in seeing what the FX markets do over the next 2-3 weeks to see how seriously people are taking it. Everyone seems to think it's just a negotiation tactic (similar to 2017/18), and he might not go through with it.

But the news is going to hurt a lot of Americans as well, if companies start stockpiling Canadian/Mexican goods in anticipation, they might have to lay off workers in the short term to cut costs temporarily, look at how much money Target is losing because they stockpiled ahead of the port strike which didn't even happen.

Also, Trudeau was dumb for going along with American isolationism regarding China, we could've diversified our export partners to hedge against something like this. Now we're too exposed to American trade policy.
