We tried a union but look at how that turned out . I say focus on your country and develop it cuz Somaliland isn't coming back.

You're over simplifying it. Union was a failure because of a dictator, not because of the Somali people. I see no reason for SL being its own country, if we differed in ethnicity or religion like with the southern and northern Sudanese people it would've been more understandable, but we don't.

I think the nail in the coffin was the fact that the SNM was called the Somali National Movement and as soon as the government was toppled there were no discussions on who would lead, they just announced a leader with no regard. I think the SNM took it as a slap in the face and they returned to the old borders and left.

I don't care whether the borders are colonial or not. Somaliland is will remain an independent state.
