How long before somalis abandon Islamic names?

One minute you say there is nothing more "respectful" than Islamic names, but want Somalis to have Somali names. Since I'm guessing you're a Muslim and most Somalis have become fundamentalists according to my experience, why would you guys care about Somali names, since Islamic one's are superior? But, I over all agree that Somalis should name their children Somali names. I mean, naming most of your boys "Mohammad" becomes unoriginal or just makes you fundamentalists.

Who cares? My name has always been butchered by them and I just got used to it. There are some that they are able to pronounce though. They also can't pronounce Muslim names if it is written in Somali.

From my experience, whites are generally familiar with the common Arabic names, but totally unfamiliar with Somali names and have more difficulties pronouncing Somali names.

They do it on purpose, especially if you're not wealthy. They have no problems pronouncing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Arnold Schwarzenegger.
