It's not a lie. It's a spin of the news story coming from the media that Ethiopia didn't like Farmaajo shunning them by making his first state visit to Saudi Arabia instead of them. Mind you, this was a break in protocol by the typical somalis presidents that sat on the chair previously.

As somalis we tend to over exaggerate a bit but I can see where Canuck was going with that angle. Personally I don't like the optics of visiting Ethiopia especially with them meddling in the affairs of Somalia but I'm hoping he's not a crook like the regional clowns and represents somali interest instead of enslaving oneself.

He needs to be the only foreign policy voice for Somalia and argue the case on behalf of Somali freedom loving majority in Somalia who don't want to see Ethiopian control and its influence in Somali regions. Time Ethiopia left Somalis to themselves so they can move on politically to an agreed future.

He needs to get Ethiopia to agree not to host clan leaders who undermine the Unity of Somalis since we national government now. Clan interest is what put Somalia where it is since every government is undermined by that ugly pursuit. There is no end in sight to what people obsessed with their clan do and did to Our country.

Ultimately, Somalis need to go war with one another to settle this without Ethiopia if some Somalis are hell bent on putting their clan first before national interests.

As such, if his visit leads to this purpose, why not? He definitely does not represent one clan or two clan interests but Somali interests. I hope he is waddani enough to ensure the future belongs to Somalis without clan bigots selling the country and their soul to stay empowered in their clan regions while Somalia languishes as divided and weak ruled over by Ethiopia and Kenya through their hand picked proxies.

I don't understand why you guys can't grasp the simple notion of politics: deliver or get out. No need to make excuses for a failed politician or government,One only fails because they are incompetent, It's as simple as that. There's no need to blame others.

There are only 4 regional presidents, it's not that difficult to make a framework for collaboration. The EU has 27 member states and they agreed on one fiscal policy, 5 stakeholders is nothing.

If you include the central government we only have 5 major stakeholders that would show up at the negotiation table. A weak and frankly nonexistent government asking the international community not to deal with or host other stakeholders is a hostile approach and would only bring us further from the much desired 'unity'.

WTF? I won't even entertain your unfounded assumptions. I don't want to restart nor waste precious time, like how we wasted 5 years with HSM and another 4 with Sharif. What I do want is to think ahead and make a good powersharing framework that is satisfactory to all the stakeholders. If there's no powersharing formula, we will forever be in this never ending circus of pointing fingers at each other.

From now on, come with rational arguments and leave petty accusations and emotional outbursts.
