It was just banter, chill
Don't come at somali girls when the only ones here preoccupied with bantus are males.

it's actually kinda sad when you think of how even people who are half black (i.e. Obama or Halle berry) have no problem calling themselves Black
@Khathead
They feel indifferent to other blacks. The proof is how they refer to African American as Madow or other Black African as Bantu.
Somalis think of themselves as dark colored Caucasians

It's nothing about linking ourselves you idiot... People like to put labels on others. When have you seen a German ing about being called white? Never, they know they are white but it means shit to them since they have more in common with fellow German and German speaking people. Most other black Africans are like that too, yet retarded diasporas from Somalis, Ethiopians and Eritreans seems to be special. I'm not even American dude, all that African American stuff you have going over there is non-existent. Even here Danes, Turks etc thinks we are black so gtfo with that shitty America-centric answerOnly Madows happen to be the only ones insecure about Somalis and how we view ourselves. Why the hell do they care how Somalis themselves? What is it to you?
That being said, Somalis don't view themselves as "Arabs"....but that doesn't mean we should identify ourselves as "Black", which is an abstract colour term invented in the United States to refer to the descendants of the African-American slaves. We are not the same race.
Self-hating Somalis want to link themselves to people who literally have nothing to do with them.
Thats because its not the same thing. Somalis prefer to identify themselves and will not settle for european racial and social term. You can go be black. But even other black will see you differently.Yes... how many times have we seem Somalis on this site alone reject being called Black?

I have never been called black in my life. I am serious. Maybe you guys all look like Fufus. siilaanyolaugh
In America there was the one drop rule. There were actual laws forcing people with as little as 10% African ancestry to be categorized as black by the GOVERNMENT.
Legacy of this system is why Mulattoes in America claim to be black rather than mixed. It has become a cultural thing of sorts.
They are race-beggers and they don't hold the somali identity very high and trying to find a new home. Honestly they are all the same, "We are arabs", "we are black" crowds all steem from deep insecurity in oneself.I hear Madows blatantly say upfront that they don't view Somalis and Ethiopians to be of the same race as them. Yet these idiotic Somalis want to keep begging to be included with them.
Somalis/Ethiopians/Eritreans comprise 140 million people and occupy a substantial portion of Africa. For them to categorize us as the same race as West Africans shows to me how little they know about anthropology.
Brazil has like 5 different color categories and many that are what you and I would call black dont even self-identify as black. You have no idea what you are talking about.Mulattoes in Brazil never had such a rule but even there they are viewed as Black by the whiter people.

as you can clearly see, we are more related to whites than some west african

@Kaafiye LOL
When most people think of Africa they imagine mudhuts and black tribal people. Nevermind the people up North or in the East or South.
