The Somali union is over Somalis have given up on Somaliweyne atleast for now hypothetically speaking if Ogaden got independence from Ethiopia today and chose not to rejoin Somalia how many of you would care infact I think most of you would be supportive of their wishes

Since I entered the land that is called SomaliSpot, I have been on an unjustly crusade against so called qabilists from Somaliland. In these past few days I have reflected and I have finally seen the error of my ways.

How can Somaliland not be independent when they have a working, functioning government, a functioning army, legitimate constitution, a functioning currency and a working democracy?

How can we say they can't be independent, when we don't even have any of those things mentioned? It is pure xaasidnimo.

Somalia is a complete mess and we want to stop the development that is going on in Somaliland?

These people do not suffer from 'Muh Qabiil" Syndrome, I was completely wrong. They have a right to leave this crumbling union, it is better for them to not be sucked into the mess.

I now wholeheartedly believe that a prosperous Somali nation like Somaliland can be a beacon of hope in the Horn, Insha'Allah.

I only want to see Somalis prosper, whether they are from Somalia or Somaliland.

I apologise to all those that I have insulted and become a nuisance on this forum.

Somalis need to get their priorities straight. We have AMISOM, Al Shabaab and corrupt politicians running the nation. We don't have a constitution. We still have the 4.5 system. Think about it.

It's also good to have a functioning democratic Somali state (Djibouti's a one man dynasty), it should be looked as an inspiration for Somali's everywhere.

Also Somaliland gaining independence now doesn't mean it will always be independent, who knows maybe an independent Somaliland will have a referendum on unification 20-30 years down the line, when Somalia is a lot more stable and developing, that's the amazing thing about democracy the people decide.
