Ideal Presidential candidates?

kheyre looks sharp and is a good orator which can be good in that it raises the bar but he's very far from ideal. he seems very obama-like in style, what we actually need is a ruthless bahal with a 19th century european mindset and a hint of bronze age brutality

What would you say are the most ideal traits in a leader especially for one in Somalia's circumstance?

a young man under 35 with an IQ in the 99th percentile, radiating joy and vitality, at the helm of an autocracy that exists only to serve his nationalistic pride and ego, who openly conveys a sense of superiority, making it clear to his rivals and the masses that he is of a higher, more refined human caliber than them. and of course, a general disregard for human life. this is a guy who will behead enemies on live television and beam it into the brain of any 68er who gets silly dreams overthrowing him.

sadly. if he does, he wouldnt concern himself in the triviality of somalia. this kind of individual thrives in the corporate world and would get more returns out of it

No such man exists yet, come 30 or 40 years maybe. Current state of Somali politics as surmised by my father: “a roundabout with no exits” but we are all tied to the circus one way or another. I don’t even think there’s a single true wadani about at the moment in Somali politics.

Are there any candidates that could feasibly win the next (s)election that would actually make serious progress?

There is no revolutionary politician now, we can only hope.

Whatever progress they can do, it will be small. FGS has progressed in capacity slowly since 2012 and especially since 2017.

So the ideal candidate is someone who can continue this slow progress until someone capable comes to rule. My personal candidates are Hsm and Xamse Barre. The former has clearly demonstrated capability. The latter is a wild card. I truly don’t know what he will achieve, Im judging based on his character, which could be a facade.

What are the current options? If it’s the usual, aka Deni, Farmaajo, HSM, Sharif, then we are finished, and I’m tuning out of Somali politics for the foreseeable future. I need someone from the corporate diaspora to take one for the team and run for the presidency. There are multiple individuals in their late 30s who have highly successful careers in the US or UK. We deserve a president that’s an alumini from Cambridge or some Ivy League school.

Abdiqasim had the face for this. We need someone that has a face card on his level but with a high IQ as that would be an unstoppable combination.

Honestly youre kinda right, theres no point to even follow this current government. Theres no place to begin, 4.5 and the states just set us far to back for something like that guy to happen. But still no need to destroy hopes like this, Anything can happen and Im betting it will.

Youre right, somalia needs someone who will get things done and quickly recover from 40 years of stagnation that began in the 80s. We need autocratic rules with some semblance to democracy so that media dosent label us as some sort of north korea. Like Eritrea, you need that perfect medium.

High IQ is obviously important, aswell as someone who has a passion for the country.

when you say alumni, thats basically code for some corrupt lapdog for foreign countries. Having a smart president is good but why alumni from a liberal arts school? In fact it will be worse if its some political degree,
Deni farmaje hsm sharif they are off the table, I agree with your stance on that. The new faces are too docile, just something with more energy and power. Being in corporate wont help, no leadership skills ur under a boss. Maybe if youre one of the somali oilgarchs , there was a thread about this a couple days ago but those somali telecom / money transfer companies have their stakes in everything. But the problem with that is again, they might not prioritze the country and nationalism and instead their own personal gain and benefit.

No such thing as ideal political leaders, instead there are aggregate, successive attempts by imperfect leaders, whose accumulative gains make discernible progress.

Quite the despotic psychopath in the making, are not you? You should compare notes with our resident Fuhrer @Khaem formerly Idrus.

Lee K Y was disastrous and dejected in his first term insofar as being suicidal with breakdowns, say, right after his enclave was ejected and pushed out to the boondocks, the only case I could think in modern history where a region is ejected from a union, so were Kai Shek, Tun Rahman, Tun Razaq, Soharto et cetera.
