The only thing SL could do is be unified under one political ideology, goals, and objectives to extract the best for the people of the North, under Kacaan the North was economically ignored, which brought issues later on.

Its an interesting issue, I wonder what the future national government will do. I mean this question of wheater somaliland should keep its boundary and flag in its integration to somalia opens up a wider question about the entire state system in somalia.
Anyone who frees his mind from biases understands that this system of states and regional governance in Somalia is just dysfunctional. I cant say that without pointing out that the current national government is the exact same way.
How are they dysfunctional, for multiple reasons. The states, including sland act like their all seperate countries. Another thing is they pick and choose or outright do not follow the national government. They resist the creation of a national identity instead building up their own state identity. These states can also just threaten independence whenever they feel like, they have their own militaries, make dealings with foreign countries at the state level and there are so many more things I can list about how dysfunctional it is.
The national government too have problems, it genuinely feels like the people in the national government have seperate interests and are not passionate about building a stronger somalia state. You dont really see any development coming from the national government, You dont really see much government at work. The legislator aka parliment is useless and just wastes time. In my view it feels like all their accomplisments are due to time passing instead of them actually getting to work and doing something positive for the country.
Not to mention both systems are plagued by qabil, at the national level its this 4.5 filth. At the state level, well the states are essentially warlords that have been formalized.
This dysfunctional system needs to be fixed, Maybe it can be fixed with islamic government that would unify the country. I have a feeling something will happen before 2030 to bring good to this country

Although I will always advocate for an independent Somaliland but let's just say that fails for many years and Somaliland decides to rejoin Somalia would there be a name change? do you think it would be renamed to Somali Republic or Samale? how would it work the reunification? I would also assume the flag to change aswell to something everyone agrees. I wonder this. I will be honest the chances of Somaliland gaining independence is sadly slim I wish but ssc kinda walked away from us and i doubt cirro will take ssc back since they fought for themselves.

that’s how the whole conflict begun in the first place, SL thought it could walk in and dictate to the people there. It doesn’t work like that, Dhulbahante aren’t known for being bossed around, SL won their allegiance in the first place through deals and overtures, not by military conquest.
To truly unite authentically we will probably have to change either the flag or the capital.
Trust me the south will ease from the burden if it cedes the capital to the north or the north will be pleased if the blue flag is changed to new flag bearing the tawhid.

I like the name United Somali Republic. Somalia isn't a good name if Somaliland does unite with Somalia one day. We need a name change all clans agree to. The flag ought to be changed aswell. I prefer Moqadishu as the capital it's a prosperous capital city and is making a lot of progress. If Somaliland fails in independence than we should all unite regardless i
