@nucleus I get your point regarding how condescending the Canadian media are towards Somalis but to be honest in all the pieces i've read about her since I was in middle school, I never saw her personally put down Somalis or overtly glorify herself...I don't know...didn't get that vibe off her.
It's the way these thirsty, lazy ass journos wanna portray her and our community.. They are very lazy journalists in Canada when it comes to covering our stories. They probably just keep going back to her for updates. Didnt you notice even when there is a tragedy that befalls us Somalis in Canada, it's always the same niggas they call to the news to speak for us lol?
That being said, as @AbdiJohnson said, i'd much rather have this narrative than some waste bucket Somali gang bangers takin the spotlight (i'd actually prefer no spotlight on us at all tbh)

Honestly it doesnt matter if she is first and that should be irrelevant btw. The problem is how ajanabi media are using her to indirectly potray us as bunch of backward unintelligent underachieving race and that she is one in their defintiion a special kind of developed sheep that sticks out from the rest of the herd.

In other words she gets praised and we get scorn tossed on us.

Lol i do get your sentiment though...i cant roll my eyes far enough back in my head when i see multiple mala yacni Toronto Star stories about something that would otherwise be considered normal in another community and using it to make a story about Somalis and the editors clapping for us like trained seals. GET OFF OUR JOCK....LOOKIN AT YOU TORONTO STAR...AND CBC...SOMETIMES.
