Is being Somali bein emptied

Ive noticed that a lot of your Somali youths are leaving Somalia for the past few years. What I find disturbing is that no one from any governmental office has even address this problem. What's more stranger is that we are leaving and others are coming in to Somalia by the millions. Will Somalis become a people without a land by poor governance

I was having this conversation with a family member. They were saying how the youth leave but you see Ajanabi's coming to their cities to work and make a profit. Very odd.

Ajnabis see the vision and taking their opportunity, whilst our people have no morale. I blame this on the government since they don’t want to invest in the youth.

A lot of this is old news , because Tahribing has declined significantly and even halted in many cases. It used to be a major problem between 2016-2018. It was due to high youth unemployment , especially from Somaliland. It wasn't millions coming in or out either.

It halted or declined largely due to the job placement schemes that the government and other private initiatives have rolled out which has made many more remain these past few years.

Addressed it a bit in a different thread but didn't realize these were outdated figures from 2012-2014.
But in general unemployment levels in Hargeisa is the highest in Somalia , higher than in Puntland and Mogadishu of 20% and 30% vs 75% in Hargeisa. There are more youth that are unemployed than there are adult. Only 15% of adults are unemployed compared with 30/20% of youth.

And it's not better for graduates either , this is partly reason why back a few years ago there were many youth tahribers were from Somaliland because the lack of job oppurtunities they faced.

They even created a youth development fund to increase employment oppurtunities for the youth and give the priorities in Somaliland back in 2020.

A lot of them have no faith in their country. Would u believe me if i said a grown man who owned a home, married with kids, had business and had 30k usd in savings asked my mom if he could sell everything to go overseas and my mom was so shocked. She said ur living a better life here than u will overseas. I always thought only poor people wanted to leave not people who have a great life there.

I was once told as a child the work or assignment you run from is what youll do for life. This a perfect analogy what type of work they will do in the west. They will be giving all the back breakimg work. For instance working at meat processing plant where they stand for hrs in cold wet room dicing up meat of minimum wage

My uncle back home would do manual labour. But sometimes they couldnt get work because the people who typically hired them went for far cheaper labour. You can’t compete against someone who wants a penny.

Menial work don't pay enough to live off. They don't not do it because they hate it. Most people are not willing to work like a slave for low pay.

And refugees that flee or are displaced from their homeland and then are barred entry into a highly skilled Job market are not the same as economic migrants. Cayr is anything but comfortable , those who receive it survive on bare minimum and they are forced into it just to survive.

That's not true at all. There is literally studies and organizations that dealt with them back between 2016-2018, most of them do not have 30k saving or a business nor do they have families because they are unmarried youths.

They don't travel abroad because they are poor since they have families that support them, it was because there was a lack of employment opportunities for them. A lot of them were even university graduates that were frustrated by the scarce job market.

They would even travel to other cities within Somalia and other Somali regions, just to seek employment oppurtunities.
