This picture shows just how sad and serious the situation is.... where even an ambulance can’t be trusted!
It’s one thing to die from an attack but imagine being injured and knowing the hospitals are under equipped

There have been zero events of AS using ambulances. ZERO. However there have been numerous reports of fake, ex isbaaro militants turned army selling their weapons to AS. I'd take my chances with the ambulance. Amin Ambulances have done more for the people of Mogadishu than that ex child soldier, Isbaaro operative who's holding them at gun point.

The ambulance is not at fault here. It's the 'soldier' that's holding them at gun point. You can see the traffic behind the ambulance, suggesting the ambulance is heading towards the suicide attack. If they were the culprits, they'd run away from the explosion site instead of of running towards the place.

AS is known to kidnap aid workers and from a google search I found one article where

pretending to be ordinary locals contacted them in need of emergency help.

According to reliable sources in the town of Dhusamareb, al-Shabaab released the health workers after finding them not posing threat to them.

Local elders mediated the release of both men. But al-Shabaab has not returned the ambulance.

I rather have the security apparatus do their due diligence rather than play a game of chance. Soldiers extorting the local population is another huge problem but we shouldn’t give any openings to a sophisticated enemy like AS
