Is Somaliland Project Joke of the Decade

It all depends on what you think the project is. I don’t think they’re very serious about recognition personally.

Seceding from Somalia has allowed them to have better relations with foreign countries and they can act more independently of the FGS than other regions can.
That’s true. If they wanted to actually secede they would have called themselves North Somalia in 1990. That would be quicker.

There's a state and govt institutions that keep the stability in SL while in Somalia there's no avtual govt or state and even institutions as all of that only exists on a paper
I asked about other clan fiefdoms not the FGS. Are you claiming that there is no state/stability/institutions in Puntland?

What does Somaliland offer its citizens beyond stability which other clanstates clearly do offer? better healthcare, education, job opportunities ? Is life that different for a somali who lives in Hargeysa vs one who lives in Garoowe or Galkacyo?

Also if the institutions in SL are so good they could’ve avoided a whole clanwar & been able to hold on to the eastern part of Sool and Sanaag, no?

There's no stability or state institution in PL where its armed men are all clan militias just look at 2 years ago conflict in Garrowe and Bosasso and the last such thing as that happened in Hargeisa or Burco was 30 years ago :)

There has been no "clan war" in Laascanood as it was purely a political one between the locals and the state which the people from there didn't want it to be in their land.

Why did they not want SL to be on their land?
political & economic grievances, unsolved murders & the killings of unarmed protesters during the 15 years Somaliland was in Lascanood led to an almost one year long conflict in the eastern part of your ”country”. Ending in thousands of deaths, your army/state being expelled from large parts of ”it’s” territory. How is that stable?

Good governance could’ve prevented that. Strong institutions could’ve prevented that.

Murders and crimes were did by local gangs who were protected or given shelter in the city and Somaliland state presence in Laascanood district wasn't a full one as still elders ran that place as they were the ones who invited SL authorities into the city in 2007 when their leaders had political dispute with PL and not the people choosing to be part of SL. That's the truth.
