You've to understand working out and dieting is a foreign concept to somalis.

The fat women were (are still in some parts) considered the standard of beauty in our culture.

Growing up, there was this phrase we use to sing to diss the skinny woman,
'maskiiney muluqeey ninkii kuqaato waa qasaaree'

I know girls who intentionally overeat so they can add on weight

I don't think that mentality can change overnight. We have to accept majority of somali women will be overweight at least in the next 10yrs.
