For anything stem related it's way better to stay in america for school. For engineering there are way better networking opportunities given to American students. For the medical field American med students have access to more of the prestigious specialities compared to international graduates. Lots of them also get stuck doing residency in bad areas too. We got foreign doctors working as family doctors in shitty rural areas.

As a kid I went from going to school in the hood to ending up in a nice suburban neighborhood by the time I reached high school. Hood schools legit feel like day cares for poor people.

The middle and upper class have their children going to the best schools. If we want to see more successful professionals within our community we need to start raising our kids in these suburban neighborhoods. Your basically screwing your children over if you don't do this in America.

I pay around 10-11k for two semesters (taking 5 and 5 classes). And to me thats a lot! But I'm doing Comp Eng so the classes are more expensive. Crazy how your getting scammed in America. Here you can just work parttime and pay off your schooling easily in Canada.

I think it's going to be a lesson hard learned. It's kind a good or bad thing in a way. It's good because if the pendulum swings fully one way for once, we will get to actually see what works and what doesn't.

Trump froze all Financial Aid including FAFSA. I don’t know a single Somali Kid that pays for their university out of pocket, FAFSA does all that. Tuition in America is out of pocket! That’s minimum 15k-60k a year depending on what 4-year university you attend. Since I’m from Minnesota, the University of Minnesota’s tuition is $18k+ a year, that’s $72k to get a 4 year degree.

This is good that Trump stopped FAFSA. American will figure out college is expensive and University will eventually lower the rates. I personally avoid college loan. I got my bachelor degree in CS with not loan. I paid for class out my pocket and I used grants. This spurred me to keep high gpa
