Somaliland independence will actually mean progress, since they aren't inhibited by the inability of the government in the south, and looking back at the history, it was the government in the south that hindered progress to the north.

In that case, by you denying us independence, then does that mean the political establishment in Somalia is plagued with qabyaalad in itself?

If SL has different tribes that are all Somali, why do you need a different country? Face it, the only reason they want independence is because of Isaaq. I don't support the 4.5 system either. Why do you feel the need to abandon the South because they are unstable? They are your own people after all. There is no need for 2 different countries that house the same people. You already know how Eritrea looks, and your recent anti-corruption minister quit because of the extensiveness and how deeply rooted the corruption is.

There is no valid argument for SL independence other than the Isaaq genocide that occurred. As long as they are alive, you should reconcile with the government and hold them accountable. You must remember that Isaaq were not the only ones who suffered(I am in no way undermining the atrocities that occurred). We are stronger together.

What national identity does Somaliland have that differentiates it from Somalia other than hatred for Somalia? At least Djibouti is based on Issa and Afar unity. If Somalia struggled to build a national identity based on Somali unity, then how on earth do you think you could build an identity based on Somali division?
