This is dumb. Firstly Somaliland didn't deport anyone, They simply told people to get state issued ID, which they have right to.

Secondly, this move effects people on both sides specifically the business community who go back and forth.

These Somali politicians are absolute animals.

There are thousands of south somalis who are not effected by this because they are registered idps/refugees etc etc Somaliland just wants to create a national distinction between different citizens of what they see as two different countries. That's hardly a surprise knowing Somalilands official position. It's not the same as what is being touted by many, that South Somalis are being banished because they are south somalis.

I have to say though, SL gov, as usual, completely lacks tact with some of the decisions they make. This is just like what happened with the refugees arriving in berbera.

I dont think the referendum was about unifying with somalia. They wanted independence. The french moved thousands of somali out because they didnt have Id cards.
