Journalist interviews the father of Somali child with blue eyes.

The interviewer makes it clear that the interview isnβt about her eyes, but about her hearing problems, which require expensive treatment abroad, possibly costing up to $5,000. The father is asking for help because the care she needs isnβt available in wadanka, and he cannot afford the treatment on his own.

I've always believed it was some sort of genetic sickness, or maybe it's just how Allah intended it to be.

For that reason, I was very hesitant to post it, but I also thought maybe some of the Somali DNA experts here could shed some scientific light on this. However, you're right, there are many people like that.

Walahi waa naxa markasta, there was this Somali-Bantu looking boy with green eyes I saw on tiktok a while back, and this guy always posted videos of him, waa la yaabay . I always fear for these kids with these mutations.
I wonder if, in a world free from yt worship, random folks with a medical condition would still be interviewed for having a trait specifically associated with our subjugators

Somalis carry some genes for light eyes & hair but it's very small percentage of our total genetic makeup
I've seen a Somali guy with Hazel looking eyes and a girl with light brown eyes.
Yeah the majority of are genes are coded for darker eye and hair colour which is why we rarely see light eyes and hair in Somalis.

There are blue eyed Somalis but definitely not common. My uncle has had blue eyes since birth.
