Interesting insight into Kenyan history, in Krapf's book, he describes them as looking very Somali-like and inhabited regions in which the Maasai and Kikuyus live today, they worshipped 1 God and were pastoralists, and extremely warlike, to the point most groups in Kenya disliked them bar the Kikiyus who traded with them.
It looks like after they lost the war with the Maasai they got absorbed by the Kikuyus, who already adopted worshiping their God.
